Studying Visa

A student visa is a type of nonimmigrant visa that allows the holder to enroll at a postsecondary educational institution in the host country. High school foreign exchange students typically need to obtain a visa for temporary residence.

Student visas are issued for educational purposes and are usually valid for the duration of your study program. As a result, your study visa can last between one to four years or even longer, depending on the duration of your course. Generally, you are not allowed to work in another country with a student visa unless your host country permits it.
